Dr. Ivkovic is a translational neuroscientist, integrative physiologist, and former firefighter/EMT. His research focuses on applying ambulatory brain and physiology monitoring for assessment of neurobehavioral function in extreme environments, development of mitigation strategies, and their translation into clinical/operational practice. Dr. Ivkovic’s work spans studies on identifying predictors of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in firefighters and other first responders, as well as effects of spaceflight on sleep, brain function, operational performance, psychoneuroimmunology, development of neuromodulation countermeasures for Moon/Mars missions. He has extensive research experience in simulated and real-life extreme environments such as ESA/NASA microgravity parabolic flights, NASA's Human Exploration Research Analog (HERA), International Space Station (ISS), operational firefighting, as well as clinical emergency and psychiatric settings. Dr. Ivkovic taches academic courses and mentors students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
